Susan uses her profession as a Registered Nurse during the youth camps, family camps, industry camps and extended expeditions. She has spent much of that time travelling with Bazil deep in the Canadian Rockies, blending her knowledge of the land with alternative healing methods. Sue is also a great cook. Sue is known for her homemade pies and cowboy coffee.

Susan and her husband, Bazil Leonard, are co-owners of High Country Vacations, Bazil Leonard. He has been guiding and outfitting in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta since 1959. The packhorse outfit was originally started in 1932 in Nordegg, Alberta, and in 1970 was moved to Willmore Wilderness Park. Bazil is the authentic mountain cowboy, with an international reputation as an outfitter. A local legend, his guests often take pleasure in his quiet and reassuring manner. He enjoys showing smaller groups the mountain trails he knows so well. Many people from around the world have accompanied him on a horseback riding adventure. Bazil is a long-standing member of the Alberta Outfitters Association and served on the Executive for many years.
